Let’s Talk About Self Love, Part IV

Today is the last Self Love series (you can read Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 here) and I thank you for joining me on this journey. It’s been nice to give extra attention to the subject this month. I really hope it has helped you in some small way on your own self love journey. That your faith in yourself has grown larger. That you believe in your worth. That you know are enough. EXACTLY as you are. You are loved and accepted. And are everything wonderful. Don’t forget that. And if you need a reminder, shoot me an email and I’ll give you a pep talk. Honestly.…

Let’s Talk About Self Love, Part III

I love songs that speak to me, my worth and I often turn to music to lift my spirits. Or to jump start a dance party in my kitchen. Today I put together a playlist of some of my “I’m a badass, I love myself, I am worthy, and I feel good” songs for you to play whenever you need a little boost in your day. What are your favorites? Mine is Love Myself by Olivia O’Brien and ALWAYS “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman (the BEST movie EVER!). xx

Let’s Talk About Self Love, Part II

Happy Valentine’s Day, loves! Today isn’t just for lovers….it’s also a day to celebrate YOU. To show yourself some love. Last week, we talked about what self love is and the start of my own personal journey with it. Today, let’s talk about a few simple ways to practice and bring some self love to you and your beautiful life. Below are 25 ways to do just that. 1. Stop comparing yourself to others. Everyone is on their own journey. 2. Buy yourself fresh flowers, weekly. This is my favorite way to bring color and joy into my day and week. And it just feel so special to have pretty…

Let’s Talk About Self Love, Part I

Hi loves! Last week, I mentioned that I wanted to start a conversation, surrounding self love. I, myself, have been on a self love journey for the past couple of years, and it’s been a LESSON. I wanted to share with you my thoughts on self love through out the month of February. I also want to hear what you have to say about the topic…..come join the table! I’ll start. Growing up, I did not know what “self love” was. Not as it’s know today at least. I would say that I grew up in a household that didn’t really encourage self love, self discovery, etc. I didn’t have…

    Let’s Talk About Self Love

Happy LOVE Month! I LOVE love. There are so many facets to it. It’s hard, complicated, scary, soul filling….pretty much allllll the things. But the thing I have been curious about and want to bring to the table is the subject of self love. It’s definitely a buzz word now these days and as I’ve been on a self love journey myself for the past couple of years, I’ve been so curious about what it all means and what it looks like. And let me tell you it’s been A LESSON! Every Friday on the blog, I’ll post a little something about self love – some thoughts, advice and questions. Come…

    Goodbye, January!

Is it me or was THAT not the LONGEST January E V E R? Back on January 17th, I felt like it was January 94th! So happy to see February finally make an appearance and get this year rollin’!  I ended 2019 with a NYE party (our 10th one!) here at home with good friends. A few days into 2020, I was cruising along with my extended family on my way to the Mexican Riviera. It was SO MUCH FUN! Filled with sunshine, margaritas, naps and warm weather, it was a nice way to start the new year. A few days later, I got back and came home to about 2 feet of snow a couple of days later and got sick after that. My husband…

How Did You Meet Your Significant Other?

Rob and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary yesterday. It was a low key celebration as we are coming off of our 14 day vacation to Chile a few days ago. Last year for our 20th, he surprised me with a trip to Shanghai, China. I thought we were going to Canada! 😂 He comes up with GREAT surprises and gifts for special occasions. We went to dinner at a local Italian restaurant in our neighborhood and brought a nice bottle of wine from home with us to celebrate. We ate on the restaurant’s outdoor patio and enjoyed a warm night and gorgeous sunset and one another’s company. We had…

    My Favorite Drugstore Buys

I love me some beauty products. Lotions, body washes and lip sticks and glosses are my favorite. I use MAC for my face powder and foundation (for the last 16 years. It WORKS!) but I tend to hit the local drugstore for all of the other things I use in my beauty routine for a much more budget friendly option. My routine is pretty basic. I don’t tend to spend a ton of time on my routine, as I like for it to be quick and simple. These products definitely help me to do just that. Do you use drugstore products or items from higher end stores? What are your…

    My Favorite Pesto Sauce

I am totally on a pesto sauce kick, guys. Now that fresh basil is showing up in the grocery stores (or I am just noticing it since it’s spring now) I grab a bunch and make a quick pesto sauce for our family dinner. I find the store bought jar sauce too salty for my liking. So I make this one instead. It’s super easy and quick. This is what I do but you can adjust the taste to your liking. My Favorite Pesto Sauce 1 bunch of washed basil (about three cups) 1/2 – 3/4 cup of olive oil (I’ve also used avocado oil when I have it around)…
