My Favorite Pesto Sauce

I am totally on a pesto sauce kick, guys. Now that fresh basil is showing up in the grocery stores (or I am just noticing it since it’s spring now) I grab a bunch and make a quick pesto sauce for our family dinner. I find the store bought jar sauce too salty for my liking. So I make this one instead. It’s super easy and quick. This is what I do but you can adjust the taste to your liking.

My Favorite Pesto Sauce

1 bunch of washed basil (about three cups)

1/2 – 3/4 cup of olive oil (I’ve also used avocado oil when I have it around)

1/2 cup of pine nuts

2 cloves of minced garlic

1/2 cup (or a little more) of grated Parmesan cheese

salt to taste and a little bit of pepper

Put basil, pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper into your food processor (or blender if that’s what you have) and mix it up. While your food processor is on, slowly pour oil into your basil mix. Mix it until your sauce is smooth. Taste and adjust with salt or pepper to your liking. Use on your favorite pasta and enjoy! ♥️
