    My Favorite Pesto Sauce

I am totally on a pesto sauce kick, guys. Now that fresh basil is showing up in the grocery stores (or I am just noticing it since it’s spring now) I grab a bunch and make a quick pesto sauce for our family dinner. I find the store bought jar sauce too salty for my liking. So I make this one instead. It’s super easy and quick. This is what I do but you can adjust the taste to your liking. My Favorite Pesto Sauce 1 bunch of washed basil (about three cups) 1/2 – 3/4 cup of olive oil (I’ve also used avocado oil when I have it around)…

    The PERFECT Cheeseboard

This girl just LOVES a good cheeseboard. They’re perfect for casual get togethers, dinner parties and you can even turn them into an actual dinner too – done it! Cheese, meat, fruit, nuts and carbs? All of the essentials, if you ask me. I love to mix up my boards depending on what I’m in the mood for or what I have in stock. And I can get creative with the display which is my favorite part….I like for it to look pretty! Here are the basics I use to put one together. Play around with it and use what you like. Have a variety of cheeses. Most cheeses are…

    Joanna’s Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas.

So, those enchiladas we had a couple of weeks ago are still on my mind. They were really easy to make and even easier to eat. I’d love to share the recipe with you today so that you can get in on the goodness. YUM. Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas, from Joanna Gaines’ new cookbook, Magnolia Table PSA: If you don’t have this cookbook, you need to stop what you’re doing right this second and get one. Just like her awesome show, Fixer Upper, Joanna infused this book with warmth and personality. It’s like she’s talking to you, with the way she weaves stories into the book with her recipes. It’s…

    Cherry Chia Jam

Oh summer, and the livin’ is easy and yummy! I picked up some cherries at the market a couple of days ago and set some aside to make a little jam. It’s super easy and quick and spreading it on my bagel this morning was a great idea! How about on top of vanilla bean ice cream? Or on homemade fresh scones? Or pancakes? Put it on allllll the carbs. Or just enjoy it by the spoonful….it’s that good. Because sharing is caring, here’s the recipe I put together: Cherry Chia Jam / makes about 1-1 1/2 cup of jam 2 cups of pitted cherries (or you can use frozen…

    My Go to Cocktail.

I’m a gin kind of girl. If I go out for the night or want something here at home, it’s usually a gin and tonic for me. I was introduced to them a few years ago while out with friends and haven’t looked back since. I’ve tried several different gins since my husband is really great gift giver….he comes home with different ones for me to try from time to time since he knows it’s my spirit of choice. I’ve been a Bombay Sapphire lover (and Tanqueray) for a while until he came home with a beautiful bottle of Copperworks small batch gin and then a couple of weeks later,…

    Cocktails in Belize.

The family and I are headed to the sandy beaches of Belize this summer and WE CANNOT WAIT! This is our first time in Central America and we’re all excited to see what Belize is all about. We’ll be zip lining, cave tubing, ruin exploring, sitting by the pool and enjoying living like a Belizean for a few weeks. One thing I’m looking forward to that I’ve not done much in regular life or on vacation is sitting by the pool, sipping on cold cocktails. I’ve done it like two times in my life because 1). I live in Seattle. There really isn’t a thing as sitting by the pool…

    Rob’s Summer Sangria.

Oh, summer time. The weather is warm, you have no idea what day it is, your dinners are grilled and enjoyed on the back patio – some of my favorite things about summer. One of our favorite drinks to enjoy during the season is sangria. Rob and I had it for the first time on a family trip to Rome a few years ago. We left our apartment in search of a fun evening atmosphere and to enjoy a good meal. We came upon the canal in the city and it was lined with outdoor restaurants with people sitting out on the sidwalk enjoying fresh pasta, live music and singing…

    Pizza Salad.

Hey guys! Here’s a dinner idea that I think I’ll be making more of this summer. Pizza night is always welcomed around here, especially when you get to make your own. The kids made pepperoni and cheese pizzas and I took mine up a notch. My local pizza place makes a salad pizza that I get most of the times that we visit there. You start with a cooked pizza crust and a light sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. And then you can make a custom salad to put on top of the pizza crust. I usually get arugula, with a vinaigrette and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I thought I…

Good Eats || A Colorful Salad.

Us Terpilowskis like to eat. We like our pasta, our chicken, our brunches that Rob makes every Sunday morning. We like to gather around our kitchen island and catch up on the day while music plays in the background. Sometimes, it’s a full on meal that I’ve planned and made, sometimes it’s leftovers and sometimes it’s what we like to call “Eat What You Kill Night” when everyone is responsible for getting food into their bellies, food that I don’t have to cook. Because sometimes, a girl need a break and I don’t want to nor do I feel like making a meal. The kids like these nights since it calls…
